What began as a way to send original greetings to family and friends became a dream come true for Kimberly Rinehart and Georgia Rettmer as their efforts turned into a successful mother/daughter business.
Surrounded by the support and encouragement of their husbands, families and friends, they combined their two natural gifts of writing, art.and Kimberly ’s thoughtful verses and Georgia’s delicate torn-paper art flow together naturally to create greeting cards that touch the heart in a celebration of words and illustrations.
Inspired by Kimberly’s words, Georgia’s unique torn-paper graphics transform each greeting card into a colorful work of art! All of Georgia’s graphics are created with handmade and hand-dyed torn paper. The beautifully-refreshing results of her efforts literally bring Kimberly’s thoughtful words to life.
Since Georgia and Kimberly created and published their very first torn-paper card in 1984, it takes two® has grown considerably. From their original operating facilities in a spare garage, the company is now located in a 21,000 square foot office and warehouse complex. Several additional artists have joined the it takes two® family over the years bringing a wonderful mix of complimentary styles and art mediums. Their cards and related gift and paper products are presently being sold in nearly 10,000 gift shops in the United States, Canada,England, Australia, and New Zealand.
